    Welcome to Stone Cottage, Oxenhope

    Set in the picturesque village of Oxenhope, near Haworth within Bronte Country lies Stone Cottage, a delightful self catering Yorkshire holiday home with a mix of modern and traditional features that can accommodate 2/3 people. Situated amongst The Bradford Millennium Way & The Bronte Way it is an ideal location for walkers and cyclists alike.  For the less active, just sit back and enjoy the beautiful surroundings Stone Cottage has to offer. Stone Cottage is one of the most competitively priced places to stay in the area.

        

    Just outside Haworth home of the Bronte Sisters and The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway famous for the filming of The Railway Children. Oxenhope is a short drive away from Skipton known as the “gateway to the Yorkshire Dales”. Skipton Castle is one of the most complete and well preserved medieval castles in England . Also close by is the town of Hebden Bridge known as the Pennine Centre, it takes its name from the packhorse bridge over Hebden Water . Bradford home of The National Media Museum and the famous Alhambra Theatre is just a short distance away. You can also enjoy a great curry in one of the many authentic restaurants. Over yonder is Halifax where you will find Peace Hall Market and Eureka the National Children's Museum in one direction and in the other, Colne where you can enjoy shopping at Boundary Mills. Saltaire Mill where David Hockney houses his works of art is also within easy reach. Oxenhope is also an ideal base for visiting the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. 

    Experiene a little bit of history by bringing your bikes along and following the route of  'Le Tour Yorkshire ' in your own time.  Maps of Stages 1 & 2 can be seen by clicking on the logo on the left hand side of the screen.

    Surrounded by moorland and countryside, Stone cottage is a perfect retreat following a day out where you can return and relax in front of an open fire, watch a DVD or just enjoy the peace & quiet. There are traditional English Country pubs in close proximity where choices of menu are available.

    Stone Cottage was recently refurnished to a particularly high standard and retains much of its original character & charm.. Accommodation details:

    • Lounge with comfortable seating, open fire & dining area, a 32” flat screen TV with freeview & DVD player.
    • A modern well equipped kitchen with electric oven & gas hob, fridge with freezer compartment & microwave oven.
    • A utility room with washing machine and table top freezer. An ideal place for storing coats, boots, & golf clubs etc. Providing secure storage for your bikes.
    • An open staircase leads to a mezzanine landing that enjoys far reaching views with a sofa bed and small library.
    • Bathroom with white three piece suite with shower over bath, heated towel rail and shaver point.
    • The bedroom has a king size bed and matching pine furniture, hairdryer and ipod dock.
    • A high chair, travel cot and safety gate are all available. However, please bring along your own cot bedding.

    There is an enclosed courtyard with garden furniture and BBQ.  

    An initial supply of coal (in winter), background heating, power, bed linen and towels are included.

    Internet access available on request.  Via USB cable only, not suitable for tablets.

    No smoking and sorry no pets allowed. Private off road parking for one car 50 yards from the property, parking is also available by the cottage on a first come, first served basis.
