Situated amongst The Bradford Millennium Way & The Bronte Way it is ideal for walkers and cyclists alike. For the less active, just sit back and enjoy the beautiful surroundings Stone Cottage has to offer.
Just outside Haworth home of the Bronte Sisters and The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway famous for the filming of The Railway Children. Oxenhope is a short drive away from Skipton known as the “gateway to the Yorkshire Dales”. Skipton Castle is one of the most complete and well preserved medieval castles in England . Also close by is the town of Hebden Bridge known as the Pennine Centre, it takes its name from the packhorse bridge over Hebden Water . Bradford home of The National Media Museum and the famous Alhambra Theatre is just a short distance away. You can also enjoy a great curry in one of the many authentic restaurants. Over yonder is Halifax where you will find Peace Hall Market and Eureka the National Children's Museum in one direction and in the other, Colne where you can enjoy shopping at Boundary Mills. Saltaire Mill where David Hockney houses his works of art is also within easy reach. Oxenhope is also an ideal base for visiting the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District.
Surrounded by moorland and countryside, Stone cottage is a perfect retreat following a day out where you can return and relax in front of an open fire. There are traditional English Country pubs in close proximity where choices of menu are available.
Stone cottage was lovingly refurbished in 2011 and retains much of its original character. Accommodation details:
- Lounge with comfortable seating & dining area, a 32” flat screen TV & DVD player.
- A well equipped kitchen with electric oven & gas hob, fridge with freezer compartment and microwave oven.
- A utility room with washing machine, an ideal place for storing coats, boots and bycicles etc.
- An open staircase leads to a mezzanine landing that enjoys far reaching views with a sofa bed and small library.
- Bathroom with white three piece suite with shower over bath, heated towel rail and shaver point.
- The bedroom has a king size bed and matching pine furniture & hairdryer.
- A high chair, travel cot and safety gate are all available. However, please bring along your own cot bedding.
There is an enclosed courtyard with garden furniture and BBQ.
An initail supply of coal, heating, power, bed linen and towels are included.
Now with iPod connection and internet access available on request.
No smoking and sorry no pets allowed. Private off road parking for one car 50 yards from the property, parking is also available by the cottage however on a first come, first served basis.
